Admissions FAQs

Q. Is there a deadline to apply to the school?
A. No, Holy Child Academy offers rolling enrollment at the school. However, we recommend that you submit your application early to ensure that your child has a place in his or her class, or if you wish to be considered for financial aid.

Q. Do I have to get my child tested with Dr. Dybner-Madero?
A. No, Holy Child Academy requires your child be tested by a child psychologist for general intelligence and aptitude. Dr. Dybner-Madero contracts with Holy Child, and provides the required testing to our families at a special rate. However, if you would prefer your child to be tested by someone else, you may do so. Below is the list of tests required by age group:
Pre-K and K
  • Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (WPSI-III)
Grades 1-8
  • Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC-III) 
  • Wechsler Individual Achievement Test (WAIT) 
  • Berry Developmental Test of Visual and Motor Integration (VMI), or 
  • Woodcock Johnson Tests of Achievement (WJ-III)

Q. As a Catholic school, does Holy Child Academy prepare my child to receive religious sacraments?
A. Yes, Holy Child Academy prepares our Second Grade students for the sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist, and currently the children receive these sacraments at the school. In Sixth Grade we prepare our students to make their Confirmation, but students receive this sacrament within their individual parishes.

Q. Is Holy Child Academy a diverse school?
A. Yes, Holy Child Academy represents the diversity of our local area in both ethnicity and religious affiliation. In addition, Holy Child Academy has an institutional commitment to the principles of diversity. In that spirit, we do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, creed, color, national origin, or any other characteristics.

Q. Does Holy Child Academy offer an after school program?
A. Yes, students at Holy Child Academy may attend Kids Club from 3:15 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Kids Club allows the children time to play, work on homework, or seek help with school projects. Please contact the Business Office for more information about fees for Kids’ Club.

Q. Does Holy Child Academy offer financial aid?
A. Yes, Holy Child Academy offers financial aid to families based on need. The financial aid application process begins after January 1st of each year, and completed financial aid applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis starting in April each year. No financial aid awards will be made until a student has been accepted to Holy Child Academy.

Q. Does applying for financial aid influence the admission decision?
A. No, Holy Child Academy accepts students based on academic merit, teacher evaluations, classroom visits, and test scores. Financial aid files are reviewed independently of the admission process.

Q. Can I pay my tuition in installments?
A. Yes, Holy Child Academy offers three different payment plans:
  • One-time payment 
  • Two-time payments (one payment per semester) 
  • Ten monthly payments
The ten-monthly payment plan starts in May of each year and involves a $75.00 administrative processing fee.
