Holy Child Academy was founded in 1927 and is the only independent, co-educational, Catholic elementary school in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, serving students from Nursery through eighth grade. Middle School Science and Math Teacher

The successful candidate will be an educator who is highly skilled and experienced in a broad range of middle school math and science instruction, including advanced courses at the secondary level. Reporting to the director of the middle school, this full-time teacher will be committed to a holistic approach to education. He or she will place a high value on the distinctive opportunities offered in independent schools, and will have a desire to advance the mission and philosophy of Holy Child Academy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan and implement a program of engaging and challenging classroom activities for mathematics, at the fifth through eighth grade levels. Courses will include both grade level and advanced instruction. Assisting in planning and co-teaching with third and fourth grade science classes.
Collaborate with language arts faculty to teach the Test Innovators program for seventh and eighth grade students, preparing them for success on standardized high school entrance exams.
Maintain active partnerships with parents with open and effective communication.
Use varied assessment strategies to promote mastery.
Employ effective classroom management techniques to create a challenging, and exciting learning environment; help students develop positive behaviors and self-control to assist them in learning.
Enhance the school’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity.
Help to prepare students for transition into selective high schools.
Establish high standards and expectations for academic excellence; provide a safe and secure environment that encourages students’ self-confidence and achievement.
Actively participate in division and faculty meetings, in-service days, and committee meetings.
Maintain an active commitment to professional growth and development.
Support HCA’s advancement and growth by assisting at Open Houses and other promotional events.
Full-time Middle School faculty are also expected to perform supervisory duties (recess, lunch, etc.), supervise a club, facilitate a service project, and assist with other programmatic activities that are part of the school day.

Holy Child Academy is seeking a qualified music instructor to teach private lessons for woodwind and brass students, as well as Band Ensemble for the 2022-2023 school year. Flexible scheduling available. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in music performance or music education, teaching experience, technology, and outstanding communication skills.
Summer Camp Specialty Teacher

Holy Child Academy Summer Camp is looking for specialty teachers to lead small group instruction in a variety of areas (i.e. art, culinary arts, sports, physical education, etc.). Specialty teachers would be responsible for preparing lessons for small groups of students ranging in age from 4 through 14. Teachers would be assisted by camp counselors leading each group. Work is part-time and will be on a mutually agreed upon schedule. Clearances are required.
Summer Camp runs Mondays through Fridays from June 12 through August 11 (no camp on July 4). The camp day runs from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and specialty teacher instruction would be for approximately 3 hours either in the morning or afternoon.
