Featuring storytime, games and crafts for children ages 18 months to four years. Free Admission.
Friday, 1/17: As part of a celebration of Black History Month, we will honor the contributions of jazz legend Charlie Parker by reading Charlie Parker Played Be Bop by Chris Raschka. Then, children will have the chance to listen to some be bop and make their own instruments to play along.
Friday, 1/31: After reading A Snowy Day by Ezra Jack
Keats, children will be challenged to design their
own snowflakes out of simple shapes.
Thursday, 2/13: We will celebrate Valentine’s Day at
by reading I Love You Animally by Lynn Parish Sutton.
Children will decorate a clay animal ornament fired in
our kiln to keep or give as a gift to a loved one.
Wednesday, 4/22: To celebrate Earth Day, we will
read Secrets of Our Earth: A Shine-a-Light Book
by Carron Brown. Then, we’ll use Sphero robots to
create our own paintings of Earth.
Friday, 3/13: To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, we will
read The Itsy Bitsy Leprechaun by Jeffrey Burton.
Then, we’ll create our own rainbow craft!
Friday, 3/20: Join us for this special storytime and
dance class! We will read I Got the Rhythm by Connie
Schofield-Morrison and then our guest dance instructor
will lead us as we move to the rhythm!
Friday, 4/3: To celebrate National Poetry Month,we will read “The Swing” by Robert Louis Stevenson. Then we’ll explore how swings move as we create our own pendulum paintings.
Friday, 5/1: We will read Plant the Tiny Seed by
Christie Matheson. Then, students will be able to plant their own seeds to take home and watch them grow.
Friday, 5/15: We will read How do Dinosaurs Play With Their Friends? by Jane Yolen. Then, children will explore how the concepts of temperature and melting as they “excavate” mini dinosaurs from their frozen eggs.
