Ensign Jean Bridget “JB” Loomis,

2015 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy

2007 graduate of Holy Child Academy

Ensign Loomis recently graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and will be going to the Naval Postgraduate School in MontereyCalif., to earn a master’s degree in mechanical engineering. She will then be stationed in Charleston,S.C., where she will train to become a submarine officer.

Holy Child Academy helped me develop confidence and competence. The teachers were demanding, yet supportive, so I was able to learn and grow as both a student and a person. HCA gave me values and a support system that I relied on throughout high school and university.

Kimberly Curtis
White House intern

2005 graduate of Holy Child Academy

Kimberly Curtis served as an intern at the White House. She worked in the Office of Management and Administration which functions as the hub of internal White House operations. In this role Kim had the opportunity to help plan events for White House staff as well as contribute to daily operations.

In addition to her work responsibilities she had some amazing experiences like touring the West Wing and viewing the President and First Lady disembark from Marine One on the South Lawn. Prior to this internship Kim spent a year serving in San Antonio, TX with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps.

“The best part of my experience at the White House is being reminded each day as I enter and exit the gates that I am now a part of the history of this revered place,” Kim says. “Working in the same place as some of the most powerful and influential people in the world is an electrifying and humbling experience.”

Kim describes the positive impact her education at Holy Child Academy has had on her life:

I can point to the strong Catholic values and robust educational foundation I received at Holy Child Academy as the source of my successes thus far. I learned the importance of leadership and was given opportunities to lead in the classroom as well as through extracurricular activities. The sense of community I felt there has been a guiding principle for me as I have sought to build community wherever I go. As I have continued to develop as an adult and learn from the experiences of those I encounter, I am continuously reminded of how lucky I was to attend Holy Child and how grateful I am to be a part of the HCA family.

The first time I walked onto a stage was at Holy Child. It was a quality, focused program and it led directly to a career as child actor, which in turn led to everything else. I have fond memories of my friends and teachers.
