Apples, Apples Everywhere!

We had a great first FULL week of school!

The children are doing a great job of starting to get the daily routine down. They have been working towards putting away the toys when they are done playing with them, sharing with friends and freezing what they are doing when the bell rings for clean up. At circle time they have been practicing sitting criss cross, applesauce, counting the days on the calendar and beginning to singing along with our morning songs and rhymes. We even did some painting and learning how to hold the paint brush the right way. These are a lot of new things for a 2 year old, and I am very proud of them!

This week we started talking about APPLES. Along with apple songs, books and crafts; they got a chance to taste test both green and red apples to pick which they prefer! Next week we will explore our Apple themed sensory table, where we will do green and red color sorting, recognizing circles and strengthen our fine motor skills.

Playing in our classroom and outside is such an important and effective way for them to learn. Please don't forget to wear sneakers everyday. Helping each other build towers with blocks, taking turns on the slide, and having play-doh parties were among some of our favorite things during playtime this week!

Mrs. Morgan and I love getting to know your children more and more each day!

A FEW REMINDERS-

-If you have not brought in a picture of your child please send one in next week. We use them to help in finding their cubbies and to start recognizing their names in the classroom.

-If you were not able to attend back to school night but would like a copy of the hand out, please let me know and I will send one home in your child's folder.

-If your child is sick or will be missing school for any reason please email me and/or call the office. We want to make sure everyone is accounted for.

-I will be sending home their blankets each Friday, please wash and return them the next time your child comes to school.

As always, feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
