Fun with friends

How can it be? We made it to week 3!

Nursery 2 had an exciting third week in the classroom, as we continued with our Apple theme! The apple theme gave us the opportunity to start talking about the letter A, the Circle shape, and the colors Red, Green and Yellow.

We incorporated these basics within some of our classroom activities and crafts, finding lots of moments to pick out the circles around the room/in books, and talking about other words that start with the letter A. We also started working on sorting and identifying their colors. They enjoyed doing this and were proud of themselves when they matched the colors. It was very fun to watch!

Although apples are super exciting, that is not all we did this week! Each day started with our kinetic sand table and it was a hit among all of the kids. They worked together and took turns shoveling, building, filling, digging, and feeling the sand run through their fingers (Mrs. Dietzler and Mrs. Morgan enjoyed this almost as much as they did!) Our circle time routine gets more familiar each day, and the kids met Mr. Weather Sloth, who they get to dress each morning for whatever the weather may be that day. The class is really starting to get to know each other and make connections. Everyday we are practicing sharing, taking turns and being kind to each other. It is still so early in the year but they are all beginning to feel more comfortable and confident in the classroom. I am so happy they are here!

Have a great weekend and HAPPY FALL. Start looking out for leaves changing colors and falling from the trees! We will be talking about fall a lot next week and throughout the next month.
