First Grade Election!

In Social Studies, First Grade has been learning about communities and what it means to be a citizen.  We have been discussing how lucky we are that we have the right to vote in our country.  To coincide with the November elections, First Grade held their own election - with cookies!  The class came up with different arguments as to why each cookie should win.  After sampling the cookies, the students went into the voting booth and made their selections for favorite cookie.  Once the votes were tallied, it was determined that Oreos won in a landslide!
