First Week of November

What an eventful and exciting week in fourth grade! We kicked off the week with our Halloween Mission Party on Monday. This years mission was the Bethesda Project. The students donated money towards the cause along with making cards for the guests. The students looked awesome in their costumes and had a wonderful time participating in the parade and wonderful activities by the Parents' Association.  Also this week, we went to the lab to complete a experiment modeling how tectonic plates move and impact the environment. They used shaving cream as magma and playing cards as tectonic plates. In honor of All Abilities Month, we viewed a presentation from Megan O'Sullivan. She is an HCA alumni and is an Occupational Therapist. She talked about her job and the various resources and assistive technologies that are available for those with disabilities. The students were able to interact with the forms of technology and experience how they are used. To conclude the week, we had our field trip to Lankenau Hospital. We participated in an amazing presentation about our body's various systems. The students were able to interact with different body parts, act out simulations and were wonderful active listeners.
