Second Week of January

This week has been full of learning and fun! The lower school got together to complete acts of service during community time. Students wrote cards to Cradles to Crayons and made bird feeders. We have officially started our novel study for The One and Only Ivan. Students have been working very hard to analyze the characters, make predictions, and participate in class discussions. In science, we started our unit on electricity and magnetism. Using batteries, wires, and copper, students were able to make closed circuits in order to power the light bulb. We concluded our week with a prayer service led by the fourth grade. Students wrote prayers of intentions and put together a reflection activity to involve the lower school in honoring the life of Dr. Martin Luther King. What a great way to start off 2023!

Reminders

  • There is no school on Monday, January 16, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

  • The next Coffee and Conversation session on Wednesday, January 18th at 7:00 PM. It is going to be a great opportunity for parents to connect and learn more about what is so special about a Holy Child Education. Hear firsthand from some of our current parents, a former student, and a Society of the Holy Child Jesus associate about HCA’s unique educational philosophy and the meaningful impact it has made in their lives. This will be a  night of fellowship and discussion you won't want to miss! We hope to see you all there! Snacks, and of course, coffee will be provided! RSVP HERE
