Hello Everyone!
We had an exciting week trying new items in our class.
We have a new sensory bin filled with fall and Halloween items. The students enjoyed scooping up beans, leaves, acorns, pine cones and faux leaves into little Halloween pails.
We enjoyed working with playdoh. We had the students try to roll their playdoh into a snake form. Once we perfect the rolling technique of forming a snake, the students then be instructed to form letters and shapes. We had our students make pumpkin, taco and meatball shapes for fun. This activity gave our students great joy and it encourages them to use their fine motor skills.
The students have been working with new materials during the Montessori work time. They are being challenging with new puzzles and transfer activities. It is great to see our class responding to new items in the classroom so well!
The students have been working on a art project. We are making a fall tree using tempera paint. The students have been working as a group and learning to be patience and follow directions on making this art project. I am so pleased with how they working towards finishing this fall project.
This Friday morning, the Early Childhood Classes kicked off a Dance Party to Celebrate the Phillies! (see dance pictures below)
We got the opportunity to work with our classmates from Mrs. Dietzler's class this Friday. It was a good way of expanding our friendships outside of our own classroom. Our students got the opportunity to explore some of Mrs. Dietzler's classroom materials for the morning portion of the day and the afternoon her class came into ours to explore. We read Brown Bear and used props to show the sequence of the story. It was very interesting to see how the students reacted to each other's classrooms.
Our classes join together for lunch, recess and PE and it was a great way for them to play and mingle. (see pictures below)
I want to praise our students for being such good helpers the past two days while Mrs. Adams was away. Your children were good little listeners and helpers! I am so proud how they are working towards being good citizens in our school!
I want to express my thank you to all the parents that came to conferences. It was great talking to you and learning how the early semester has been fairing for you and your child. If there is any questions or concerns that you may have that we did not discuss during our conferences, please feel free to contact me.
Best Wishes for a Happy Fun Fall Weekend!
Warmly, Elena and Veronica
P.S. Thank you for supporting the food drive :)
