In honor of Black History Month, we have been learning about jazz and different jazz artists. We have been having fun scatting and playing along to all sorts of jazz music.
Our Nursery 2 and 3 classes listened to the story When Louis Armstrong Taught Me to Scat and learned about Louis Armstrong. (You can see our Nursery 3 class having fun scatting here.) Nursery 3 loved dancing and pretending to play along to the music of Trombone Shorty and Orleans Ave. You can check out their jam session here. Pre-K had fun listening to the story Trombone Shorty (aka Troy Andrews) and listening to music from his band Trombone Shorty & Orleans Ave. The Kindergarten focused on the queen of jazz and scat, Ella Fitzgerald and also learned about John Coltrane.
Our Pre-K and K classes are preparing fo lead the school in a Lenten prayer service. The children have been practicing two songs for the prayer service in our music classes. We hope you can join us in prayer on March 9.
