January brings songs, chants and games with themes of snow, snowmen and all things winter. The children were introduced to Vivaldi's Winter from his Four Seasons composition and everyone enjoyed moving expressively fo the music with scarves. Pre-K and Kindergarten reviewed the string family prior to listening and used their imagination to create winter scenes while listening to Vivaldi's Winter.
Our N2 and N3 students are working on vocal expression and discovering the different ways they can use their voices. Of course their singing voice is the favorite in music class.
Our Kindergarten is learning to read rhythmic notation (paired eighth notes, quarter notes and quarter note rests). They had fun creating different patterns and sharing them with their classmates.
