Lower School Parent Visitation

Second graders hosted their families in Spanish class last week. Students interviewed their parents using some of their basic Spanish vocabulary (colors, foods, numbers) to create posters for their families and shared in some review games.
¡Gracias a todas las familias por visitarnos!

The purpose of the event is to raise money for Bringing Hope Home, a local organization that provides financial assistance to families impacted by cancer. There will be basketball skills activities and a tournament for Middle School students and adults. Concessions will be sold, along with raffle tickets for a chance to win 76ers-themed prizes. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Entry fee is $5 per person or $15 per family. Please register here.

  • Bring an extra lunch for Bethesda Project: Fill a brown paper lunch bag with a granola bar, chips, cookies, fruit snacks, and/or water by Monday, May 8th. These bags will be donated to people experiencing homelessness in Philadelphia. This project is coordinated by the 5th grade class.

  • May Crowning and Celebration of Mothers: Save the date for Friday, May 12th at 8:15 AM.

In preparation for Mother's Day, each student will be able to invite one guest (his/her mother or special friend) to a special Celebration of Mothers Prayer Service. During this prayer service, we will participate in the Catholic tradition of crowning Mary, the mother of Jesus and the Queen of Heaven and Earth, with flowers and ask her to pray for us as we strive to follow her Son, Jesus. We will also offer special prayers and blessings to all mothers and mother figures in our lives. Please RSVP here.
